Services for Ruthie Mae Smith of Garland, Texas, and formerly ofBrookhaven, are 4 p.m., Saturday, April 21, at Mt. Wade M.B. Churchwith burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in chargeof arrangements.

Mrs. Smith, 79, died April 17, 2001, at Castle Manor NursingHome in Garland. She was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 22, 1921,to Charlie Williams and Lessie Williams.

She was retired. She was a member of Mt. Wade M. B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, R. C.Smith; her son, A. C. Smith; her brothers, Hardy Williams, OliverWendell Williams, L. C. Williams, and Jake Williams; and hersisters, Joyce Williams, Charlene Smith, Clara Gearing, MarySmiley, and Bessie Williams.

Survivors are her grandson, Terence Smith of Dallas, Texas; hergranddaughters, Gail Williams of Dallas and Tonya Smith of Weed,Calif.; her sister, Geraldine Dean of Chicago; her brother, J. C.Williams of Chicago; and seven great-grandchildren.
