Whew!! That was close!!

Lincoln County sustained widespread damage when a tornadohopped, skipped and jumped its way through the area Thursday.

While a number of homes, vehicles and outbuildings were damaged,luckily, there were no injuries here. The worst of the storm’sdamage was farther to the northeast of us in Newton County, whereat least 50 people where hurt and property damage wasextensive.

We want to echo the sentiments of Lincoln County Civil DefenseDirector Cliff Galey, who expressed his thanks to the manyvolunteers who worked to remove trees, limbs and other debris. Lotsof folks pitched in to help the volunteer fire departments andcivil defense workers. Thanks to all of them.
