Lady Jackets sack Salem

SALEM — Erin Johnson scored 12 points and Alisha Mason 11 inleading the Enterprise Lady Yellow Jackets to a 42-35 Monday nightwin over the Salem girls. In the varsity boys game, Salem beatEnterprise 73-45 as Dewayne Bridges scored 16 points and JamesRatliff 15 for the host Wildcats.
Enterprise resumes play Friday at Loyd Star. Tipoff is 4 p.m.with junior varsity girls and boys, followed by the varsity girlsat 6 and varsity boys at 7:30.
The Lady Jackets (2-4) got 11 rebounds from Mason, a sophomorecenter. Kacey Rutland had 10 rebounds. Kaylin Burke made 6assists.
“I thought our subs came in and did a good job for us,” saidEnterprise coach Billy Vaughn.
Twelve points by Keisha Peters led Salem in scoring.
The Jackets (0-6), coached by Ricky Gray, fell behind Salem38-24 at halftime. They were led by Matt Floyd with 14 points andCory Smith with 12.
Junior High Action
In the junior high girls game, Enterprise beat Salem 21-14, ledby Melane Rutland’s 10 points. Amanda Burke had 6 points for theLady Jackets (2-5).
In the boys game, Salem beat Enterprise 48-22. The Jackets (0-7)got 5 points by Ky Burke. Taylor Herrington and Jamie Smith eachhad 4 points.
