Services for Melva Boyte of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Tuesday,Sept. 23, at Union Baptist Church with burial in UnionCemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 4-9 p.m., at Harrigill Funeral Home,and Tuesday from 1-2 p.m., at the church.

Mrs. Boyte, 83, died Sept. 19, 2003, at New Dawn RetirementCenter in Ruth. She was born in Lincoln County on June 2, 1920, toWillie Ellis Daniel Martin and Mollie McGuffie Martin.

She was a retired supervisor for Potter Company in Wesson for 35years. She was a lifelong member of Union Baptist Church, and amember of Eastern Star Chapter One of Brookhaven and Alpha LionsClub.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, EssieEdward Boyte.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and PeteRawls of Bogue Chitto; her son and daughter-in-law, Lincoln CountySheriff Lynn Boyte and Becky Boyte of Brookhaven; her sister,Jewell Martin of Brookhaven; her grandchildren and their spouses,Lisa and Perry Knight, Debbie and Randy Newman, Kara and Bill Cook,Greg and Jennifer Boyte, Robert and Amanda Rawls, and Bruce andTammy Rawls; and nine great-grandchildren.
