Mrs. Johnnie Pearl Smith left this earth to go to her heavenly homeon September 28, 2011. She was a homemaker who very much enjoyedbeing with her family and friends. One of her greatest tasks wasserving as town clerk in Sidon, Miss. for 19 years.
She was born on Feb. 7, 1926, in Copiah County to William M. andBeulah Sasser Smith. She was the youngest of 10 children. Shemarried Solon Smith on June 30, 1942. She was a member of MacedoniaBaptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son, Solon DeanSmith; brothers, Willie Smith, Miller Smith, Howell Smith, MackSmith, Paul Smith, Leonard Smith and Pat Smith; and sisters, MamieBritt and Nell Smith.
Survivors are her daughter, Jo Ann Adams and husband, Herschel;daughter-in-law, Melanie Smith; two granddaughters, LeAnnMontgomery and husband, Philip, and Morgan Scates and husband,Chase; two great-granddaughters, Jaci Lee Montgomery and MarleyClaire Scates; and a host of nieces, great-nephews, and friends whotruly loved her and enjoyed her tales.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at BrookhavenFuneral Home with burial at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.Visitation was Friday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Smith, Carey Smith, Mike Smith, NeillDavid Jones, Vann Edward Jones and Chuck Upchurch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the PleasantGrove Baptist Church Building Fund.
