“Jessica had a phenomenal year for us, she was our sparkplug,”said Co-Lin Head Coach Allen Kent. “Her speed really put a lot ofpressure on opposing defenses. She’s a classicline-drive/ground-ball hitter. Jessica also improved a lot ondefense in her sophomore season. She cut down on her errors, plusshe just simply made plays on a lot of balls that most people don’tget to.”
Melton, a two-sport athlete, missed a lot of playing time andeight games at the beginning of the season while she was playingbasketball. She will be playing both sports next year atMississippi College.
“Jessica was a pleasure to coach and will be sorely missed,”said Kent. “She’s one of those special players who you will not beable to replace.”
