Scouts cookies ready for delivery

A flurry of activity greeted the arrival of more than 2,000cases of Girl Scouts cookies at a Brookhaven business Thursday.

Parents and troop leaders circulated in and out of Mid-SouthSign Graphics from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. to collect cases of cookiesordered by scouts in late January. The scouts will distribute thecookies “over the next few days,” said Pamela Richards, troopleader for troop 955.

The 2,000 cases sold individually this year was a markedimprovement over last year’s sales, Richards said, when thedistrict sold slightly more than 700 cases.

In addition, the district ordered 700 extra cases for publicsale over the next two weeks. Scouts will sell those cookies at thesame cost at stations set up at local retail stores, Richardssaid.

“The cookie sale is our big fundraiser for the year,” she said.”We appreciate all the support of the community and hope they enjoythe delicious cookies.”

Lincoln County hosts more than 200 Girl Scouts of the MiddleMississippi District.
