Elton Bullock

Services for Elton Bullock of Silver Creek are 2 p.m., Tuesday,Jan. 13, at Crooked Creek Baptist Church with burial in CliburnCemetery. Community Funeral Services is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Bullock, 66, died Jan. 11, 2004, at his residence. He wasborn in Lawrence County on Nov. 5, 1937, to Oscar Bullock andNattie King.

He was retired from Bill’s Distribution as a security guard. Heserved in the National Guard and in the Navy, where he won theNational Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal, andserved in Vietnam. He was a mason with Silver Creek Masonic Lodge#472.

Preceding him in death were his father; his wives, Nelda Bullockand Ilene Bullock; and his stepbrother, Kenneth Bullock.

Survivors are his mother, Nattie King of Silver Creek; hisdaughter, Melissa Denise Arrington of Rogley, La.; his son, MelvinDoyle Bullock of Alexandria, La.; his stepsons, Ronald Smith ofAtlanta, Ga., and Michael Henderson of Mobile, Ala.; his sister,Moilene DeCorte of Westwego, La.; his brother, Emmitt Bullock ofSilver Creek; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Minnie Kelly Henry

Services for Minnie Kelly Henry of Brookhaven are 1 p.m.,Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church withburial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from noon until 7 p.m., with familypresent from 6-7 p.m., at Tyler Funeral Home.

Mrs. Henry, 91, died Jan. 9, 2004, at Silver Cross Nursing Home.She was born in Brookhaven on Dec. 5, 1912, to Dan Kelly andMelissa Epheran Kelly.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Macedonia MissionaryBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, BuddyHenry; her son; her sisters, Annie, Mary, Emily, Hannah, Lula andJensi; and her brothers, Edgar, Sylvester, Monroe, George andVersie.

Survivors are her nephew, George Kelly Jr. of Brookhaven; herniece-in-law, Katie Kelly of Brookhaven; her grandniece, DorothyKelly of Brookhaven; her sisters-in-law, Altha Mae Sidney and PearlJackson, both of Brookhaven; her brother-in-law, James Henry ofChicago, Ill.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ila Ruth Little Hutson

Services for Ila Ruth Little Hutson of New Orleans, La.,formerly of Wesson, were 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 12, at HarrigillFuneral Home Chapel with burial in Sylvarena Baptist ChurchCemetery.

Mrs. Hutson, 88, died Jan. 10, 2004, at Pendleton MemorialMethodist Hospital. She was born in Louisiana on Oct. 6, 1915, toWilliam Martin Little and Ida Jones Little.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Suberban Baptist Church inNew Orleans.

Preceding her in death were her husband, David Tildon Hutson;and her son, Lloyd Hutson.

Survivors are her grandchild, five great-grandchildren andseveral nieces and nephews.

John Edward Loper

Services for John Edward Loper of Monticello are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial inCarmel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Loper, 79, died Jan. 12, 2004, at Lawrence County Hospital.He was born in Natchez on March 9, 1924, to John Alvin Loper andBeatrice Ballard Loper.

He was a construction worker.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, PaulineSiler.

Survivors are his wife, Elmeze Russell Loper of Monticello; hisdaughter, Wanda A. Loper of Brookhaven; his sons, Edward CarolLoper of Monticello, Jimmy Loper of Raleigh, Robert Dale Loper ofWichita Falls, Texas, and David E. Loper of Moody, Ala.; hissisters, Bernice Williamson, Carolyn King and Lorraine Hawkins, allof Monticello; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

Augustus Milling

Graveside services for Augustus Milling of Monticello are 2p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13, in Wanilla Baptist Church Cemetery. WilsonFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Milling, 76, died Jan. 7, 2004, at Covington CountyHospital. He was born in Roxie on Feb. 25, 1927, to Jenner RossMilling and Catherine Milling.

He was a retired farmer.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his sister, Elsie M. Milling; his brother, JennerMilling; and a host of nieces and nephews.
