Lady Bulldogs eliminated

MERIDIAN – Coach Charles Moore’s Lady Bulldogs saw their seasonend in a disappointing way Thursday night as SE Lauderdaleeliminated the Lady Bulldogs from the Class 3A South State girls’playoffs 60-31.
The Lady Bulldogs (25-6) struggled offensively in the firsthalf, trailing SE Lauderdale 19-2 after one quarter of play.
“In the first quarter, we missed 10 shots in the paint,” Mooresaid. “We just had poor shooting in the first half.”
Lucy Ruffin’s 29 points for Southeast Lauderdale (31-3) was thedifference in the game. Ruffin led her team to a 44-23 lead afterthree quarters of play.
FCHS, got a team high nine points from Latanya Williams. Juniorstandout Shareka Hunt was held to a season low six points.
Choctaw Central 45, Hazlehurst 44
Paced by Missy Bell’s 13 points, Choctaw Central knocked off theHazlehurst Lady Indians with a fourth quarter defensive stand.
Choctaw Central outscored Hazlehurst 7-4 in the fourth quarterfor the win.
The Lady Indians (14-17) got 13 points apiece from AprilMitchell and Michelle Harris.
South Pike 72, Prentiss 60
Region 7-3A member South Pike kept on rolling off a 22 pointoutburst from Ivielle Stewart and 16 points from MoniqueBryant.
South Pike (27-5) led 37-31 at halftime, before outscoringPrentiss 35-29.
Raymond 66, Morton 47
The Lady Rangers (29-5) dismantled Morton for smooth victorybehind Valencia McFarland’s 28 points.
Raymond had won nine games in a row.
