Services for John C. Bowers of Bogue Chitto are 10 a.m., Monday,Feb. 23, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in RiverwoodMemorial Park Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 4:30-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Bowers, 75, died Feb. 20, 2004, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Hartwell, Ga., on Feb. 2, 1928, to WacoBowers and Massie Williams Bowers.

He was a retired poultry and cattle farmer. He served 31 yearsin the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer and was a veteran of theKorean and Vietnam Conflicts. He was a member of the Baptistfaith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, WacoBowers Jr.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Bowers of Bogue Chitto; his sonsand daughter-in-law, Mike Bowers of Brookhaven and David Bowers andDebbie of Brookhaven; his sisters, Elsie Bowers Duncan of Maldon,Mass., and Margie Bowers Smale of Silver Springs, Md.; threegrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
