Funeral services for Lloyd Brewer, of Richton, are 1 p.m. onMonday, March 28, at Friendship Baptist Church in Brookhaven, withburial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service isin charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home andMonday from noon until the time of the service at the church.

Mr. Brewer, 62, died March 25, 2011, at Wesley Medical Center inHattiesburg. He was born in Mississippi on June 4, 1948, to MelvinBrewer and Doris Overstreet Brewer.

He was a graduate of Richton High School and the University ofSouthern Mississippi. He was retired from Wesson Attendance Centerwhere he had worked as a teacher for 25 years. He was a member ofEastside Baptist Church in Richton and was also retired from theUnited States Air Force, where he had served for 15 years as atechnical sergeant and served in the Vietnam War. He was also amember of the Wesson Lions Club, a Mason, a member of the Veteransof Foreign Wars, and a former deacon of Friendship Baptist Churchand a member there for more than 20 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, PatsyBrewer; and his daughter-in-law, Amanda Sugg.

Survivors are his wife, Wanda Delaughter Brewer; his sons, TimothyBrewer and wife, Cathy, of Malakoff, Texas, and Jeff Sugg, ofBrookhaven; his daughters, Tammy Brewer Futagawa and husband,Verne, of San Antonio, Texas, and Tina Brewer Barksdale andhusband, Brent, of Phoenix, Ariz.; his stepson, Dwayne Hewitt andwife, Brenda, of Jayess; his stepdaughter, Athena McDonald, ofRuth; his brothers, Roy Brewer and wife, Judy, John Brewer andwife, Kathy, and Dwight Brewer, all of Richton; his sisters, JudyTolbert and husband, Leon, of Petal, Theola Peterson, ofHattiesburg, and Betty Jane Morgan and husband, David, of Ovett;his stepbrother, Kenneth Brewer, of Richton; his stepsister, TammyWynette Walley, of the Gulf Coast; six grandchildren; sixstepgrandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his uncle, MiltonBrewer, of Vancleave; and his aunt, Erline Wakefield, of Texas.
