JACKSON – Senior center Anna Kaitlyn Mangold pumped in agame-high 19 points to help lead the Brookhaven Academy LadyCougars to an 46-39 victory over the Jackson Prep LadyPatriots.

In vrsity boys’ action, Jackson Prep crushed the short-handedCougars 76-34 Thursday.

Brookhaven Academy resumes action Monday, traveling to face theCentreville Academy Tigers. Tipoff is a 6 p.m. for the girls game,followed by the boys.

BA 46, Jax Prep 39

Laura Beth Wright netted 12 points to provided assistance to theLady Cougars (5-0) victory. Mangold led the boards as she grabbed10 rebounds.

Laurel Bane was the leading scorer for the Lady Patriots with 12points.

Jax Prep 76, BA 34

Brock Smith led the Cougars (1-1) in scoring with 13 points and 7rebounds. Brennan Miller contributed 11 points and 5 boards.

Thomas Dunbar provided 16 points to lead the Patriots. Wirt Dunbaradded help with 13 points.

In junior high girls action, Madison Welch scored 10 point to helpJackson Prep to a 32-20 victory over Brookhaven Academy. The LadyCougars (3-1) were led by Madison Warren’s 7 points.
