Florida rips Ole Miss in SEC tourney

HOOVER, Ala. (AP)- Jonathan Pigott hit two home runs and hadfour RBIs to help Florida eliminate Mississippi from theSoutheastern Conference tournament with a 12-2 victory onThursday.

Preston Tucker also homered for the Gators (39-19), who willplay either Arkansas or Georgia in another elimination game onFriday. Tucker had three hits and three RBIs.

Pigott had only two homers this season coming into the game,which was called after eight innings due to the 10-run mercyrule.

The Rebels (40-17) went 0-2 in the SEC tournament after winninga share of their first regular-season league title since 1977. KyleHenson and David Phillips each drove in a run for Ole Miss.

Anthony DeSclafani (6-3) and Patrick Keating combined to pitch aseven-hitter and hold the Rebels scoreless over the last seveninnings.
