Funeral services for Alpha Lynette Dawson Sharpe of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, at New Hope Church in Gloster, with burial in Rose Lawn Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sharpe, 79, died June 14, 2013 at Countrybrook Living Center. She was born in Mississippi on Feb. 8, 1934 to Mann Dawson and Mary Nettie Randall Dawson.

She was a manager at Allen’s Cleaners and was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Robert “Bob” Sharpe, brother, Maurice Dawson; and sisters, Agnes Faye Dawson Wilson and Eleanor Dawson.

Survivors are her son, Ronnie Sharpe; daughter-in-law, Barbara Sharpe; daughter, Karen Lipscomb; brothers, Larry Dawson of Troy, N.C., Ray Dawson of Troy, N.C., Stanley Dawson of Vidalia, La., Bobby Dawson of Sibley, Gaylon Dawson of Rockvale, Tenn. and Joey Dawson of North Dakota; sisters, Edith Dawson Wills of Brookhaven, Patricia Dawson of Meadville and Patsy Dawson Towels of Gloster; seven grandchildren, Fred Lipscomb Jr., Chasity Sharpe, Tori Cole, Denise Sharpe, Bob Sharpe, Joshua Sharpe and Lisa N. Lipscomb; and eight great-grandchildren.
