Dallas V. Anding

Services for Dallas V. Anding, of Brookhaven, will be held at 4p.m. on Sunday, March 23, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Brookhavenwith burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home onJackson Street is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Anding, 87, died March 20, 2008, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Jan. 6, 1921, to JohnstonJ. “J.J” Anding. and Eunice Case Anding.

He was retired from his work as a self-employed buildingcontractor and millworker. He was the owner of MississippiMillworks and built church furniture for many churches throughoutthe South. He was a lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church,where he was a member of the Harold Smith Sunday School Class. Herebuilt the church after the original structure was lost to fire.He was formerly active in the Civitan Club and was a member of theBrookhaven Masonic Lodge.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, GladysSmith Anding; his daughter, Linda Kay Terrell; his infant daughter,Glenda Fay Anding; his brother, Carlos “Kit” Anding; and hissisters, Yvonne Boyte and Mavis Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Aleene Anding, of Brookhaven; his son,Nelson Anding, of Brookhaven; his stepsons, Bobby Caraway, ofClinton, and Michael Caraway, of Decatur, Ala.; his daughter,Marbeth Jordan and husband Reuben Jordan, of Brookhaven; hisstepdaughter, Georgia Weeks, of Bolton; his brother, Denver Andingand wife Esiz Lee, of Brookhaven; his sister, Eva Nations andhusband Curtis, of Brookhaven; his son-in-law, Gabe Terrell, ofBrookhaven; his 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Jason Anding, Chris Terrell, Jamie Weeks, DustyBratton, Trent Thurman and Dean Thurman.

Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Harold Smith SundaySchool Class of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church BuildingFund, or the American Cancer Society.
