Services for Lillian “Nell” Flowers, of Meadville, are 2 p.m.Wednesday, May 3, at Franklin Funeral Home with private internmentat a later date.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Flowers, 91, died April 30, 2006, at Meadville NursingHome. She was born in Lawrence County on Nov. 4, 1914, to GeorgePreston “Pet” Turnage and Annie Elizabeth “Bessie” WilsonTurnage.
She was a retired beautician. Upon graduation from cosmetologyschool, Nell and her sister Bess moved to Meadville where theyopened their own beauty shop, the first in Franklin County. Friendsand family shall long cherish her loving memory and lifewell-lived.
She was a member of Meadville United Methodist Church and amember of Eastern Star.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Leslie L.Flowers; her sister, Mary Lou Turnage Daughdrill, of Prentiss; andtwo brothers who died in infancy.
Survivors are her son, Carroll L. Flowers, of Meadville; hersister, Bess Thomas, of Meadville; her grandsons, ChristopherFlowers and wife Sharon, of Anchorage, Alaska, Michael Flowers, ofNashville, Tenn., and Paul Flowers and wife Shannon, of Shreveport,La.; her great-grandchildren, Cole Flowers, Camila Flowers, AnnaBeth Flowers and Abigail Flowers; and her brother-in-law, HaroldFlowers, of Houston, Texas.
