RIDGELAND — The St. Andrew’s Saints swept a Division 6-2Abaseball doubleheader from the Loyd Star Hornets Friday night.St.Andrew’s won the first game 11-1 and the finale 9-1.
Loyd Star (14-8, 7-5) travels to Wesson Tuesday night for twogames. The junior varsity game begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by thevarsity at 6:30.
Coaching the Hornets is Jonathan Breakfield.

The winning pitcher Aubrey Green with 3 strikeouts and 3 walks.Ryan Wallace (4-3) took the loss with 1 strikeout and 4 walking.Also seeing action on the mound was Josh McCaffrey.
Loyd Star was held to two hits, singles by Jarred Rogers andT.J. Floyd.
Elliott Varney led St. Andrew’s with a home run. Jared Myerssingled 3 times. Chandler Anthony doubled and singled. Doubling wasGreg McMillian. David Marsh and Lee Smith collected 2 singlesapiece.

Winning pitcher Conway Craig struck out 10 batters and walked 2for the win. Rogers (5-2) took the loss, fanning 2 batters andwalking 1.
Evan Smith and Speeg led the Hornets with a double and a singleapiece. McCaffrey doubled.
The Saints got a homer from Craig. Varney doubled and singled.Ripping 3 singles was Marsh. Anthony doubled.
