Services for Evelyn Miller Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Monday, July 1, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRosehill Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 5-8 p.m., and Monday from 8-11 a.m.,at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 81, died June 27, 2002, at Haven Hall Nursing Home.She was born in Lincoln County on November 8, 1920, to WalterMiller and Eula Paxton Miller.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of First BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, GlennSmith.

Survivors are her son, Gary Smith of Jackson; her daughter andson-in-law, Glenda Smith Byrd and Gerald Byrd of Tinley Park, Ill.;her grandchildren and their spouses, Cameron Byrd and wife Carol ofCypress, Texas, Courtney Byrd of Dallas, Amanda Byrd of TinleyPark, Ill., Heather Benfer and husband Jason of Blacksburg, Virg.,and Millie Smith of Brandon; her great-grandchild, Nathan Byrd ofCypress, Texas; and her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and CecilSwafford of Memphis.

Pallbearers are Cameron Byrd, Jack Rutledge, Percy Rutledge,Phillip Rutledge, Danny Magee and the Rev. Jerry Smith.
