Co-Lin sweeps Delgado

NEW ORLEANS — The Co-Lin Wolves swept a basketball doubleheaderfrom the Delgado Community College Dolphins Tuesday night.

Sophomore forward Greg Truvillion led the Wolves with agame-high 32 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists on their way to a75-67 comeback win over the Dolphins. Truvillion was 20 of 25 fromthe free throw line.

In the women’s game, sophomore guard Reisha Bullock pumped in 13points and made 6 steals to pace Co-Lin in a 64-41 victory overDelgado.

Following the Christmas Holidays, Co-Lin returns home onThursday, Jan. 3, to host Northeast Community College for twogames. The women’s game begins at 5 p.m. followed by the men.

The Lady Wolves (8-1) cruised to a 26-point, 38-12, lead at thehalf. They are ranked No. 17 in the NJCAA National Poll.

“We were able to play everyone,” said Co-Lin women’s coach GwynYoung. “It was a good win going in to the holidays. Everyone gotsome valuable playing time.”

Contributing to the Lady Wolves’ win with 10 points was KristinEllis..

Delgado got 13 points from Johnneisha Luckett. Netting 11 pointswas Jameca Garrison.

Co-Lin (6-3) trailed Delgado by 4 points, 37-33, at halftime.According to head coach Dennis Sims, the Wolves trailed by as muchas 9 points in the second half. Co-Lin’s defensive pressure causedthree straight turnovers to tie the game. Sophomores Julius Blanksand Jemario Martin came off the bench to spark the defense.

Freshman guard Trent Hutchins, who leads the team in scoringwith 19 points per game average, finished with 20 points.

Delgado was sparked by Chris Robinson’s 17 points and 3 assists.Firing in 14 points was Ricardo Porter. Damion Smith netted 12points and Jarred LaFont followed with 11.
