Nancy Carol Atkins Anderson
Services for Nancy Carol Atkins Anderson of Monticello are 1p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7 at Hartman Funeral Home Chapel in McComb withburial in Liberty Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Dawson willofficiate.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Anderson, 49, died Dec. 4, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Portsmouth, Va., on May 13, 1955, to Billie Atkins andLouise Wood Atkins of Banks, Ark.
She was a a cook and waitress for many years in Lincoln andLawrence county restaurants. She was an artist, who loved sewingand painting. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother andgrandmother.
Preceding her in death were her mother-in-law, Barbara GayleAnderson, who she was special caregiver; and a stepson, Alex BlaiseVohberg.
Survivors are her parents; her husband, Danny Anderson ofMonticello; her daughters, Carolyn Louise Wood Perrien and herhusband, Chris, of Monticello; Toni Michelle Wood Mitchell and herhusband, J.J., of Salem, stepdaughter Christie Danielle Anderson ofDenham Springs, La., and stepdaughter Brittany Marie Anderson, ofMarianna, Ark.; her brothers, Michael Atkins and his wife, Linda,of Warren, Ark., and Daryl Atkins and his wife, “Lin,” of ElDorado, Ark.; her sister, Janice Arlene Dunn and her husband,Melvin, of El Dorado; and her granddaughter, Haley Nicole Perrienof Monticello.
Janice McManus Evans
Services for Janice McManus Evans of Metairie, La., are 2 p.m.Tuesday, Dec. 7 at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville withburial in Byrds Chapel Cemetery in Meadville. The Revs. DannyFlanagan and Kevin Malcomb will officiate.
Visitation is Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mrs. Evans, 84, left this Earth to be with her Heavenly Father,Dec. 4, 2004. She died at her residence. She was born in Meadvilleon June 23, 1920, to Gordy McManus and Minnie Clark McManus.
She was a retired secretary for Evans Welding Company of Harvey,La.. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 191 ofKenner, La., where she twice served as worthy matron. She was amember of the Metairie First Assembly of God Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters and twobrothers.
Survivors are her loving husband of 65 years, Dolph P. Evans ofMetairie; her sons, Kenny Evans and his wife, Gayle, of Metairie,Jerry Evans and his wife, Joyce, of Livingston, La., and Gene Evansand his wife, Patricia, of Livingston; his sister, Regina Prust ofBaton Rouge, La.; eight grandchildren; and twogreat-grandchildren.
Jack C. Thomas
Services for Jack C. Thomas of Wesson are 10 a.m., today, Dec.6, at Wesson Baptist Church with burial in Wesson Cemetery.
Mr. Thomas, 80, died Dec. 4, 2004, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Crystal Springs on Sept.24, 1924, to Jim Thomas and Myrtle Batton Thomas.
He was a retired educator from Copiah-Lincoln Community College.He was a member of Wesson Baptist Church, where he was a formerteacher for Sunday School and Training Union. He was a member ofthe American Legion, the Wesson Lions Club and the fire department.He also helped with the Boy Scouts.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Lucille Ware;a brother, Charles Ervin Thomas and James H. Thomas Jr.
Survivors are his wife, Juanita Thomas of Wesson; daughter,Susan Thomas Diamond and her husband, Bobby, of Wesson; hissisters, Willie Bea Henderson of Terry, and Nancy Waldrop ofCarrollton, Ga.; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Diamond, JessicaDiamond and Julie Diamond.
