Services for Fitzhugh Lee ‘Hugh’ Neal Sr., of Brookhaven, are 2p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Brookhaven Funeral Home’s North JacksonStreet location with burial in Monticello City Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Neal, 72, died Dec. 9, 2008, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center in McComb. He was born in Lincoln County onMarch 13, 1935, to Fulton Butler Neal and Daisy Maude BristerNeal.
He was a retired meat manager for A&P and Delchamps grocerystores for 45 years. He was a member of Mallalieu United MethodistChurch.
He was involved in the Mason Fair River Lodge No. 203, where heserved as master of the lodge three times. He coached many LittleLeague Baseball teams in Brookhaven.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his sister-in-law,Maxie Case.
Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Shirley Reid Neal; his son,Dr. Lee Neal Jr. and wife Gretchen, of Brookhaven; his brother,James Farrell Neal and wife Ginnie, of Alamogordo, N.M.; hissister, Thelma Neal Rushing and husband Kenneth, of Brandon; fourgrandsons, who he had great pride and love for, Fulton Harris Neal,13, Ford Reid Neal, 10, Fitz Hulon Neal, 5, and Finley McAllisterNeal, 4; three special nephews, Keith Case and wife Susan, ofWesson, Greg Case and wife Dana, of Monticello, and Amp and StacieCase, of Monticello; his brother-in-law, Wayne Reid and wife Ann,of Pearl; his loving mother-in-law, Lois Reid, of Monticello; andtwo special friends, Curtis Nations and John D. Boyte, both ofBrookhaven.
