Enterprise takes two in W. Lincoln Classic

Enterprise played two sweat-soaked games in the West LincolnSoftball Classic Saturday as the Lady Yellow Jackets got theirslowpitch season off to a successful start. They defeated LawrenceCounty 3-2 and West Lincoln 4-0.
“We scored early in both games and our defense really playedwell,” said Enterprise coach Steve Sasser. “We made someoutstanding plays on defense.”
Enterprise 3, Lawrence 2
Lacey Orr (0 K, 0 BB) pitched the victory over Lawrence County,allowing 2 runs on 9 hits.
At the plate, Orr singled twice. Amy Lambert, Sarah Burke, ToriRyall, Chynna Coghlan and Kaitlin Moak singled.
Hannah Calcote (0 K, 2 BB) was the losing pitcher. She allowed 7hits and 3 runs.
The Lady Cougars were led by Dalphne Armstrong and Mary Margaretwho singled twice. Lawrence County got singles from Kayla Byrd,Georgia Walker, Shelley Mitchell, Allie Harris, and Calcote.
Enterprise 4, W. Lincoln 0
Enterprise shut out West Lincoln 4-0 in the finals after theLady Bears had beaten McComb. Orr (0 K, 0 BB) scattered 8 hits inthe shutout victory.
The Jackets were paced by third baseman Kolbie Lewis who singledtwice and doubled. Karla Hux, Ashley Greer, Amy Lambert, Ryall andCoghlan singled.
West Lincoln’s Jessica Franklin (0 K, 1 BB) took the loss,allowing 8 hits.
Offensively, the Lady Bears were led by Hannah Knouse whosingled twice. They got a single from Ashley McCaffery, KeriEasley, Karlie Herrington, Katie Mullins, Alexis Cook and StephanieSmith.
Enterprise (2-0)) hosts Brookhaven Tuesday, starting at 5 p.m.with a junior varsity game, followed by the varsity at 6.,
