Services for Glynell Wright, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Dec. 27, at Bethel AME Church with burial in Rose HillCemetery.
Visitation is Friday from noon until 6 p.m. at R.E. TylerFuneral Home.
Mrs. Wright, 77, died Dec. 19, 2008, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Chicago, Ill., on Dec.5, 1931, to Elijah Townsend and Lenora “Tunnie” Patton.
She was a retired educator. She received a B.S. degree atJackson State College, in Jackson, and a master’s degree at FiskUniversity in Nashville, Tenn. She did additional studies atHighland University in Las Vegas, N.M., and the University ofSouthern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She was a former biologyteacher at Brookhaven High School.
Mrs. Wright was a member of Bethel AME Church a former member ofthe choir and a former class officer.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, PrentisWright; and a son, Curtis Wright.
A survivor is her daughter, Julia Wright Parker, ofBrookhaven.
