Lady ‘Cats shut out Enterprise

BOGUE CHITTO — The Bogue Chitto Lady ‘Cats exploded for seven,first-inning runs and roared to a 10-0 Monday shutout of theEnterprise Lady Yellow Jackets in slowpitch softball action. LatoyaBraxton pitched the shutout.
“My girls came out playing hard,” said BC head coach ScottLeggett. “We played good defense and hit the ball well. Latoya dida good job on the mound.”
Bogue Chitto (12-3, 4-1) finished with 16 hits and did notcommit an error. At the plate, Brynna Wallace led the Lady ‘Catswith a double and a triple. Kayla Smith and Chelsey Miller had 3hits apiece. Kelli Howard tripled and singled.
Dori Hall doubled for BC. Candace Avants, Devon Welch andBraxton also hit safely.
“Bogue Chitto hit the ball and we didn’t,” said Enterpriseassistant coach Chad Coon. Head coach Steve Sasser’s team waslimited to just two hits in the 5-inning game.
Enterprise (6-5, 1-3) got singles from Amanda Price and MonicaNations.
The Lady Jackets hosts Salem Thursday, starting at 6 p.m. with ajunior varsity game. Bogue Chitto plays at Natchez CathedralThursday, starting at 5 p.m. with a JV game.
In the JV game, Enterprise romped to an 11-2victory. The Lady Jackets got a double and a single from AshleyGreer. Erika Rutalnd and Sara Burke singled twice. Laken Rawls, AnnMarie Cole, Ashley Beard, Amanda Burke and Samantha Richardsonsingled.
A triple by Morgan Roberts led BC in batting. Holly Miller,Caitlin Owen, Shaquille Burton and Jessie Miller singled.
