Ida Lee Britt
Services for Ida Lee Britt, of Nederland, Texas, were January 31at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland with burial at Oak BluffMemorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. Pat A. Riley Funeral Home inNederland was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Britt, 70, died Jan. 28, 2005, at Park Place Medical Centerin Port Arthur, Texas. She was born in Brookhaven on Dec. 25, 1934,to Carlos and Mary Lou Ratcliff.
She was a 1953 graduate of Lloyd Star High School. Mrs. Brittmarried her husband of 51 years, Charles E. Britt Sr. and theysettled in Nederland in 1955 where they raised their family, butthey maintained their Mississippi roots. She worked and retired asa bookkeeper with Retail Merchants Association in Port Arthur.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her brother, ShelbyRatcliff of Brookhaven.
Survivors are her her husband Charles E. Britt Sr. of Nederland;two sons, Charles E. Britt Jr. and Anthony C. Britt Sr., ofNederland; her daughter, Deborah Lee Hanley, of Mont Belvieu,Texas; her sisters, Iva Pearl Golman, Juanita Coone, Betty Lofton,Linda Weathersby and Margie Falvey, all of Brookhaven; 10grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Jane M. Helgason
Memorial services for Jane M. Helgason, of Brookhaven, will beheld at a later date. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in chargeof arrangements.
Mrs. Helgason, 92, died Feb. 6, 2005, of heart failure at HavenHall Living Center. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on Sept. 25,1913, to William T. Wiley and Ella M. Wiley.
She was Protestant.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lyle E.Helgason; six sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors are her daughters, Carolyn Allen, of Brookhaven, JanetSchwarz and Bonnie Moran, both of Baltimore, Md.; her sons, DonaldHelgason and Dennis Helgason, both of Baltimore; 14 grandchildren;51 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
