BA roars past Trinity

The host Brookhaven Academy Cougars handed the Natchez TrinityEpiscopal Saints an 11-1 whipping in five innings of varsitybaseball action Wednesday afternoon. Coach Stephen Cooksey’sCougars improved to 6-1 on the season.
BA hosts Silliman Institute on Tuesday, March 21. The juniorvarsity game begins at 4:30 p.m. followed by the varsity at6:30.
The winning pitcher was Seth Davis (2-0) in one inning with onestrikeout and no walks. Ben McKinney fanned two batters, walked onand hit one batter while working the next three innings. Paul Davistook over in the fifth with one walk and one hit allowed. KyleGodfrey was the losing hurler.
BA posted one run in each of the first three innings for a 3-0lead. The Cougars added four runs in the fourth and fifth inningsto secure the win. The game was called under the 10-run rule. BAbeat Trinity 15-1 Tuesday at Natchez.
Powering the Cougars with a pair of doubles and a single wasKeith Franklin. Bradley Allred doubled and singled twice. Ripping adouble and a single each were Corey Dickerson and Jeremy Winborne.Paul Davis and Seth Davis singled.
Trinity got a single from Mathew Freeman and John Griffey.
