Jason Paul Redd

A native and resident of Baker, La., Jason passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Lane Regional Medical Center at the age of 39.
Visiting was held at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, La. on Friday, June 7, from 5 until 8 p.m., and on Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by Bro. Valmond Wallace and Bro. Bryan Christmas. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his parents, Paul and Sue Redd of Baker; sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Clay Cooper of Baton Rouge; beloved dog, Simba; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Yuba Redd, and Fred and May Herring, all of Brookhaven.
Pallbearers were Jerrold Edwards, Lamar Foote, Labin Garner, Michael Redd, Scott Redd and Don Walls. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Crawford, Clay Cooper, Joey Noble and Glen Ray Redd, Jr.
Jason’s happiest times were spent fishing and golfing. He took great pride in his golf course maintenance, where he worked as a spray tech for several courses in Baton Rouge. He never met a stranger, and would help anyone, anytime – day or night. He was tenderhearted and had a deep love for his family and many devoted friends.
