Services for Victor Bruce Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.Thursday, Dec. 23 at Alexander High School Auditorium with burialin Mt. Olive Church Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at the school.

Mr. Smith, 23, died Dec. 17, 2004, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven onNov. 19, 1981, to Bruce Smith and Bobbie Jean Smith.

He was manager of Vision Service Center. He studied criminaljustice at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and for one semester atMississippi College. Mr. Smith was named Mr. Basketball in 2000 asthe most valuable player in Lincoln County by The DAILY LEADER. Hewas a member of New Vision Fellowship Church.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Bobbie Jean Henry Smith;and his grandmother, Audrey Shannon.

Survivors are his father, Bruce Smith and his wife, Barbara, ofBrookhaven; his sisters, Audrey B. Quinn, Conchita L. Smith andVictoria R. Robinson, all of Brookhaven, Deandra L. Jones ofDetroit, Mich., and Sheritha Copeland of Chicago, Ill.; hisbrothers, Cuebus Williams of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Dorian Dunn ofBrookhaven; his grandmother, Beatrice Smith of Brookhaven; hisgrandfather, McNair Smith Sr. of Brookhaven; his fiance, LatoyaStewart of Brookhaven; six nieces; four nephews; a host of adoptedbrothers, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
