Four face drug charges

LAWRENCE COUNTY — Raids on two residences over the weekendresulted in four people being arrested on multiple drug charges,according to Lawrence County Sheriff Joel Thames.
After deputies served a search warrant at 614 Jefferson Street,New Hebron, they discovered about half an ounce of a substance thatappeared to be crystal methamphetamine, said Thames.
“We will have it tested to make sure it’s crystal meth, but ifit is, the value is about $1,500,” he said.
Deputies, who were assisted by the Pearl River Basin NarcoticsTask Force and the New Hebron Police Department, also discovered asubstance resembling marijuana and precursor chemicals andparaphernalia used for manufacturing and using crystalmethamphetamine, he added.
Two vehicles, a rifle, cash and a police scanner were alsoconfiscated during the raid.
Lance Travis Polk, 30, and Kim Polk, 28, both of that residence,were arrested, along with Toby Reynolds, 34, of 219 St. StevensRoad, Silver Creek. They are being held in the Lawrence County Jailon multiple drug charges.
Deputies also raided a second home in the Arm Community, andobtained similar materials.
“We got approximately four ounces of what appears to be crystalmeth, and seized 15 guns from the home of Matt Parkman,” saidThames, adding that the substance could have a street value of$15,000.
Parkman, 37, was arrested and charged with possession of crystalmethamphetamine, paraphernalia and precursors.
“This is just another step in our diligent fight to rid LawrenceCounty of dangerous drugs,” said Thames. “I want to send a clearmessage: if you deal drugs in Lawrence County, you’re luck willsoon run out.”
