Geemes Archie Smith
Services for Geemes Archie Smith, of Summit, are 11 a.m.Thursday, Dec. 22 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial in Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 11a.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith, 86, died Dec. 20, 2005, at Camellia Estates inMcComb. He was born on Dec. 25, 1918, to Charlie Leroy Smith andMary Chisholm Smith.
He was retired from Johns Manville in Natchez. He served in theArmy during World War II. He was a member of Ramah BaptistChurch.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Irene FauverSmith; his brother, Leroy Smith; and a sister, Lucille Smith.
Survivors are his son, Hester Smith and his wife, Jean, ofSummit; his daughter, Carolyn Sue Smith Foxworth and her husband,Frankie, of Covington, La.; his sisters, Myrtle Hinson, of Natchez,Ola Mae Holden, of Liberty, and Leslie Ann Smith, of McCall Creek;five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Gail Gayten Williams
Services for Gail Gayten Williams, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Friday, Dec. 23 at St. James M.B. Church with burial in HillcrestCemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.
Mrs. Williams, 48, died Dec. 18, 2005, at her residence. She wasborn on Jan. 14, 1957, to Willie Gayten Sr. and Velma Gayten.
She was a 1975 graduate of Brookhaven High School and a graduateof Copiah-Lincoln Community College where she obtained a degree innursing.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Survivors are her mother, Velma Gayten, of Brookhaven; herdaughter, Kia Williams, of Brookhaven; her brothers, Willie GaytenJr., Kimberly Gayten and Devin Gayten, all of Brookhaven; hersisters, Anna Owens, Rhonda Smith, Tammy Gayten, Stephanie Gaytenand Carla Gayten, all of Brookhaven; and many aunts, uncles andother relatives.
