Mary Evelyn Brister
Services for Mary Evelyn Brister of Bogue Chitto were 2 p.m.,Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Wellman Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Brister, 65, died Oct. 2, 2003 at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lawrence County on April 2, 1938, to MinnieGivens Pate and A. C. “Lum” Pate Sr.
She was retired from Bill’s Auto Glass & Trim Shop. She wasa member of the Eastern Star-Topisaw Lodge 326. She was a member ofEasthaven Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors are her husband, Willie Morris “Bill” Brister of BogueChitto; her daughters, Martha Faye Robison of Bogue Chitto, SharonBeth Smith of Brookhaven, and Jan Douglas of Bogue Chitto; her son,Ricky Morris Brister of Bogue Chitto; her sisters, Alfia Bullock ofRuth, Lucie O’Quinn of New Orleans, and Alma Bullock of Brookhaven;her brothers, Henry Pate of Brookhaven and A. C. Pate Jr. of NewOrleans, La.; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; threegreat-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Freddie Roscoe Dewitt
Services for Freddie Roscoe Dewitt of Ruth are 11 a.m., Tuesday,Oct. 7, at Providence Baptist Church in Jayess with burial in thechurch cemetery.
Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Home inMonticello, and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m., at the church.
Mr. Dewitt, 82, died Oct. 4, 2003, at Pine Crest Nursing Home inCrystal Springs. He was born in Charleston, S.C., on Aug. 11, 1921,to Charles Thomas Dewitt.
He was a retired carpenter, and an explosives operator in theArmy during World War II. He was a high school graduate, and amember of Providence Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Dixie HuguleyDewitt; and one brother.
Survivors are his daughter, Sonja Grayson of Ruth; his son,Tommy Dewitt of Ruth; his sister, Martha Kraft of Charleston, S.C.;his brother, Charles Thomas Dewitt of Hughes, Ark.; and threegrandchildren.
Hunter Cole Williams
Services for Hunter Cole Williams of Brookhaven were 11 a.m.,Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Bethel Temple United Pentecostal Churchwith burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home was incharge of the arrangements.
Master Williams, 15 months old, died Oct. 3, 2003, at King’sDaughters Medical Center. He was born in Brookhaven on June 18,2002, to Billy Williams and Lisa Rials Williams, both ofBrookhaven.
Survivors are his parents; his brother, Coty Williams ofBrookhaven; his grandparents, Francis Williams, Jimmy Lee Williams,Diane Rials and Nick Rials, all of Brookhaven; and hisgreat-grandmothers, Lois Fuller and Alma Rials, both ofBrookhaven.
