Ross P. ‘Dick’ Allen Sr.

Services for Ross P. “Dick” Allen Sr., of Brookhaven, are 1 p.m.Thursday, April 19, at Old St. John M.B. Church in Wesson withburial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 8 p.m. with family hourfrom 7 until 8 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mr. Allen, 66, died April 11, 2007, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Copiah County on Feb. 15, 1941, to MarvinAllen and Lena Allen.

He was retired. He was a member of Old St. John M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, ClarenceAllen, James Allen and Thomas Allen; and a half brother, PaulStewart.

Survivors are his sons, Charles Smith, Ross Allen Jr. and hiswife, Annette, Curtis Allen and his wife, Vicki, and Troy Allen andhis wife, Phyliss, all of Brookhaven; his daughters, Bertha Bates,Bernice Kelly and her husband, Tommy, Jackie Moore, and herhusband, Mack, and Carolyn Williams, and her husband, Derrick, allof Brookhaven; his sisters, Helen Lomax and her husband, Emmitt, ofBrookhaven, Bertha Allen, of Brookhaven, and Precious Allen andMary Allen, both of Wesson; his brothers, Charles Allen, ofSpringfield, Mass., and Robert Allen and Samuel Allen, both ofWesson; 12 grandchildren; five uncles; three aunts; and a host ofnieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Margaret ‘Candy’ Kelly Jackson

Graveside services for Margaret “Candy” Kelly Jackson, ofDenver, Colo., formerly of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Thursday, April19, at Cool Springs M.B. Church cemetery in McCall Creek.

Visitation begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Mortuary.

Mrs. Jackson, 55, died April 8, 2007, in Denver. She was born onJuly 25, 1951 to Booker Kelly Sr. and Mary Kelly.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Aaron Jackson, of Denver; herbrothers, Robert Kelly, of Aurora, Colo., Booker Kelly Jr., EugeneKelly and Michael Kelly, all of Denver; her aunt, Ruby Thomas, ofLucien; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.

Richard Wayne Rowell

Services for Richard Wayne Rowell, of McComb, are 10:30 a.m.Wednesday, April 18, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with burialin Hollywood Cemetery in McComb. Father Bill Henry will officiateservices.

Visitation is Tuesday from 3 until 8 p.m. at Catchings FuneralHome in McComb and will continue Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. at thechurch.

Mr. Rowell, 63, died April 15, 2007, at his residence. He wasborn in McComb on Aug. 12, 1943. He was the son of Alton Rowell andRetta Boyd Rowell.

He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a U.S. Armyveteran. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and theAmerican Legion. He retired as a plumber and owned his ownbusiness.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, HaroldRowell, Huelon Rowell and Waymon Rowell; and two sisters, EvelynRodriguez and Edith Jackson.

Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Dianne Stewart Rowell, ofMcComb; two brothers, Aubrey Rowell, of Pricedale, and LealonRowell, of McComb; two sons, Jeffery Rowell and his wife, Patricia,of McComb, and Steve Rowell and his wife, Crystal, of Brookhaven;two daughters, Sharon Rowell Moak and her husband, Craig, ofMcComb, and Susan Rowell Holloway and her husband, Bill, ofVictoria, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jacob Rowell, Zachary Rowell,David Rowell, Shelbie Rowell, Alexanderia Rowell, Jared Holloway,Julia Moak, Seth Moak and Ben Moak.

Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made tothe Crisis Pregnancy Center of Southwest Mississippi Inc., 406Delaware Ave., McComb, MS 39648.

William ‘Buddy’ Rutland

Services for William “Buddy” Rutland, of Ruth, are 2 p.m.Wednesday, April 18, at Providence Baptist Church in LawrenceCounty with burial in the church cemetery. Community Family FuneralServices is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Rutland, 65, died April 16, 2007, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center. He was born on Oct. 16, 1941, to Cabe R. Rutlandand Oma L. Hampton Rutland.

He was disabled.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his son, Bryan Rutland, of Byram; his brothers,Danny Rutland, Larry Rutland, Pat Rutland and Harry Rutland, all ofRuth; his sisters, Juanita Bread and Burnell Jackson, both of Ruth,and Dora Nations, of Bogue Chitto; and two grandchildren, TylerMarie Rutland and Brook Elizabeth Rutland.

Earleen Prestridge Williams

Graveside services for Earleen Prestridge Williams, ofBrookhaven, are 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, at Rosehill Cemetery inBrookhaven. Barham Funeral Home in Meridian is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Williams, 93, died April 15, 2007, at Jeff AndersonRegional Medical Center. She was born in Brookhaven on Aug. 3,1913, to John Bryant and Alice Prestridge.

She was a graduate of Whitworth College and a lifelong member ofFirst Baptist Church of Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death were her parents; and her husband, AltonLowery Williams, who died in 2001.

Survivors are her daughter, Judy Graham Wood and her husband,Dr. Eugene Wood, of Meridian; her grandson, Hardy Graham Jr. andhis wife, Monica, of Meridian; her granddaughter, Lee GrahamMorphis and her husband, Emmett, of Greensboro, N.C.; and fivegreat-grandchildren, Kori, Graham, Lauren, Lilli and Liam.
