JACKSON – Jessica Melton and Randi Moak of Bogue Chitto cruisedto the Class 1A Girls State Tennis Tournament championship Tuesdayat Parham Bridges Tennis Center. Melton and Moak, both seniors,beat the team of Bonnie Neil and Josie Hood from St. Aloysius 6-3,6-4 in the finals.

Melton-Moak defeated Casey Wilburn-Caroline Oakes of GreenvilleSt. Joseph 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 in a marathon semifinals matchyesterday.

Lyndsay Franklin of West Lincoln was runner-up in Class 1A girlssingles as Brittany Jelks of St. Joseph posted a 6-1, 6-2 victoryin the finals. Franklin rallied in the semifinals and defeatedAlycia Humble of St. Aloysius 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
