Rufus Rushing

Services for Rufus Rushing, of Monticello, are 2 p.m. today,March 12, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in BethelBaptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 9 a.m. until the time of theservice.
Mr. Rushing, 80, died March 10, 2006, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born in Tylertown on May 29, 1925, to HermanJessie Rushing and Lesse Smith Rushing.
He was a retired service man with Southern Pine EPA. He was amember of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Tylertown, wherehe was a deacon for more than 15 years. He was also a member of theCoon Hunters Association and Civitan Club
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, WillieRushing; and two grandchildren.
Survivors are his wife, Nevon Holmes Rushing, of Monticello; hissons, Dennis Ralph Rushing, Rufus Keith Rushing, and Michael TerryRushing, all of Monticello; his brothers, Herman Rushing Jr., ofPascagoula, Donald Rushing, of Magnolia, Smith Rushing, ofFerriday, La., Paul Rushing and Bill Rushing, both of Tylertown,James Rushing, of Brookhaven, and Jerry Rushing, of Alexander, La.;his sisters, Sarah Alice Sagor, of Alexander, Lessie Mae Rhawls, ofMoss Point, Joyce Odom and Beth Morrow, both of Tylertown, andMareen Spence, of Monticello; his 10 grandchildren; and 10great-grandchildren.
