RIDGELAND – Pitcher Jim Henegan pitched a 2-hitter and the St.Andrew’s Saints marched to a 7-1 Tuesday night victory over theWesson Cobras in Division 6-2A action. Henegan, a right-hander,struck out 9 batters and walked none. Trey Brown pitched 1 inningof relief. striking out 1 and walking 2.
Wesson (1-3), coached by Jerry Brewer, resumes play Fridaynight, hosting the Loyd Star for a division game. The JV starts at5, followed by the varsity at 7.
The Cobras got singles from Kyle Smith and Dustin Shelton whohad a seventh-inning RBI.
Russell Robinson (0-3) went six innings for Wesson. He gave up 7runs on 5 hits, struck out 3, walked 1 and hit 1.
First baseman Abram Orlansky collected 2 hits for the Saints(4-1). They scored 5 runs in the bottom of the first inning.
