Catherine Getwan Sheber

Services for Catherine Getwan Sheber, of Westmont, Ill., wereheld at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church inDowners Grove, Ill., with burial in Clarendon Hills Cemetery.Adams-Winterfield and Sullivan Funeral Home in Downers Grove was incharge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sheber died Aug. 1, 2007, at her residence. She was born inChicago, Ill., on Jan. 20, 1917, to Fred and Katherine Getwan. Sheattended St. Francis Catholic School and graduated from BrookhavenHigh School in 1935. She was in the Marine Corps during World WarII and was an executive secretary for Sears.

Preceding her in death were here parents, brother Fred andhusband Stanley Sheber. Survivors are her sons Paul, Tom and wifeBeth, of Westmont; her brother, Nicholas Getwan, of Columbus; hersisters, Margaret Barrett and Mary Ratliff, of Brookhaven; hergrandchildren Sarah and Kaitlyn Sheber; her 15 nieces andnephews.
