The Lincoln County School Board will proceed with budget decisions in a special called meeting Tuesday, April 30, as a result of Gov. Phil Bryant’s approval of the 2014 K-12 appropriations bill.

Bryant finally signed the bill late Thursday after receiving it April 8.

Board members have been awaiting the bill’s approval out of fiscal caution before addressing budgetary measures.

A special called meeting scheduled for April 22 was cancelled due to the governor’s lengthy hold on the bill.

Tuesday night’s meeting will address 2013 budget revisions and the Extended School Year Program, as well personnel recommendations.

According to state law, school districts have 10 days after the bill’s signing date to notify teachers of non-renewal.
