A multi-county burglary ring was dismantled by area lawenforcement agencies with the arrest of seven people Thursday,Lawrence County Sheriff Joel Thames said.

The seven suspects allegedly burglarized Valley Quick Stop, Hwy.27 Grocery, Monticello Forest Products and Agreaux Organics inLawrence County; 84 Shell and Three Flags Race Track in LincolnCounty; Sartinville Grocery in Walthall County; and Armstrong’sGrocery in Pike County.

The burglaries all occurred within the past two to three weeks,the sheriff said.

“We found that our neighboring counties also had the same typeof break-ins, so we contacted investigators with each of these andasked them to come in and help us and the case came together,”Thames said.

Tim Voorhies, 38, of 57 Old Carmel Rd., Monticello; RustinOlivier, 18, of 58 Jim Hearn Ln., Monticello; Frank Barr, 18, ofTimberlane Drive, Monticello; Adrian Ard, 20, of John Peyton Ln.,Monticello; James Dutton, 24, of 355 China Grove Rd., Brookhaven;Kimberly Jones, 21, of 2296 River Road, Liberty; and an unnamed16-year-old were arrested for their alleged involvement in therobberies of the businesses in four counties, Thames said.

All of those arrested were being held in the Lawrence CountyJail this morning. The juvenile was scheduled to appear before aYouth Court judge today.

The sheriff credited anonymous information received throughCrimeStoppers that allowed investigators to build a case andapprehend the suspects, he said.

Search warrants executed at one residence allowed investigatorsto recover some of the items taken from the businesses, Thamessaid.
