Paul Weaver, age unavailable, was in good condition thismorning, said Joanna Sproles, a hospital spokeswoman.
Paul Weaver was stabbed twice in the torso and received a deepcut on his left forearm, Henderson said.
“It was almost to the bone, according to Detective (Roger)Wilson,” the chief said.
The couple has a history of domestic violence stretching backthrough their 20-year relationship, Henderson said.
“She kept a small steak knife under her pillow because of this,”the chief said. “We recovered that knife at the scene.”
The couple were arguing in the home around 9:28 p.m. Sunday, thechief said, adding that it was possible alcohol may have escalatedthe violence.
“(Paul Weaver) did admit to Detective Wilson that he hit her byslapping her one time,” Henderson said. “We believe that’s whatescalated the assault.”
