BHS golfers 4th in state 4A tourney

FLOWOOD — The Brookhaven Panthers are a distant fourth in theClass 4A State Golf Tournament at The Refuge. They shot a first-dayteam total of 326 Wednesday, 13 strokes behind defending statechampion George County’s score of 313. Pearl is second at 320 andPetal third at 324. Amory is fifth at 329 and Pontotoc sixth at338.

Terry, the Division 6-4A champion, shot a 355 in the firstround.

Leading the Panthers is senior Grant McDonnieal who shot a par72, best in the first round. Austin Mills was next at 80, followedby Brandt Hinton and Phillip Hammond at 87 and Dustin Alexander103.
