Services for Zadie Lou Gilmore Barner, of Wesson, are 11 a.m.Thursday, Dec. 24, at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Wesson withburial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 1 until 7 p.m. at Williams Mortuaryin Brookhaven with family present from 6 until 7 p.m.
Mrs. Barner, 90, died Dec. 20, 2009, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on Nov. 1, 1919, to Parker Gilmore andJessie Thrasher Gilmore.
She was a retired cafeteria employee who worked for the CopiahCounty Public School System at Wesson Attendance Center. She was amember Pleasant Grove M.B. Church where she served on the Mother’sBoard, as a Sunday school teacher and in the mission ministry.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, OrangeBarner; her sons, Cecil Barner and Edward Barner; her four sisters;her six brothers; her two sons-in-law; her three grandchildren; anda grandson-in-law.
Survivors are her daughters, Allene Hicks and husband, Willie,of Chicago, Ill., Maxine McGee, of Sontag, Charlene Franklin, ofHawthorne, Calif., and Mary L. Barner, of Wesson; her sons, JamesBarner and wife, Lillie, of Indianola, Ben Barner and wife, Mary,of Wesson, and Shelly Barner and wife, Glenda, of Jackson; abrother, James P. Gilmore and wife, Mary, of Hazlehurst; adaughter-in-law, Lorraine Barner, of Jackson; a sister-in-law,Agnes Barner, of Hazlehurst; her 18 grandchildren; her 23great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relativesand friends.
