Charles Edwin Dunaway
Services for Charles Edwin Dunaway, of Carter’s Creek, were 10a.m., Saturday, June 4, at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb withburial in Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery. The services wereconducted by the Revs. Major Speights and Michael Gibson.
Mr. Dunaway, 74, died June 2, 2005, at Southwest MississippiRegional Medical Center. He was born in Lincoln County on March 31,1931, to Charlie Dunaway and Julia Finley Dunaway.
He was retired from Mississippi Power and Light/Entergy. He wasa member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church, where he served as adeacon. He was a member of I.B.E.W., where he served as shopsteward.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and two brothers, JoeDunaway and Harvey Dunaway.
Survivors are his wife, Geraldine Reeves Dunaway of Carter’sCreek; his son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Sandy Dunaway ofSpanish Fort, Ala.; his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and JohnRoberts of Magnolia; his sisters, Camille Walker, of Birmingham,Ala., Kathryn Woodham, of Warner Robbins, Ga., and Sue Johns, ofBaton Rouge, La.; two grandchildren, Gerri Wilson, of Magnolia, andLuke Dunaway, of Spanish Fort, Ala.; and numerous nieces andnephews.

Hazel ‘Honey’ Greer Wooley Huhn
Services for Hazel “Honey” Greer Wooley Huhn, of Ruth, were 2p.m. Friday, June 3 at Ruth Baptist Church with burial in UnionPrimitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Harrigill Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.
Mrs. Huhn, 79, died June 1, 2005, at her residence. She was bornin Lincoln County on Aug. 9, 1925, to Nile Greer and Grace NortonGreer.
She was retired from self employment as an upholsterer atMagnolia Upholstery. She was a member of Ruth Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, JuliusClifton “J.C.” Wooley II and Rubin Noel Huhn; a son, Billy N.Wooley; an infant daughter, Betty Sue Wooley; two brothers, JohnHenry “J.H.” Greer and Robert N. Greer; and one sister, LavellWilliams.
Survivors are her daughter, Amanda Brown and her husband, Larry,of Magnolia; her sons, Jackie Wooley and his wife, Susie, of HotSprings, Ark., Bobby Wooley and his wife, Regina, of Bogue Chitto,and Rickey Wooley and his wife, Alice, of Ruth; her sisters, NileneLofton, of Escatawba, and Yvonne Miller, of Ruth; her brother, J.B.Greer, of Ruth; a daughter-in-law, Pam Wooley, of Summit; 14grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a wealth of nieces,nephews and friends.
Benji Hiram Shumaker
Services for Benji Hiram Shumaker of Sontag were 2 p.m.,Saturday, June 4, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in NewZion Cemetery.
Mr. Shumaker, 47, died June 2, 2005, at his residence. He wasborn in Scott County on Feb. 9, 1958, to Norris Edward Shumaker Sr.and Annie Kathleen Blackwell Shumaker.
He was a cross country truck driver. He was a member ofRiverside Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Debbie Shumaker, of Sontag; his sons,Benji Hiram Shumaker II and Joseph Matthew Shumaker, both ofSontag; his brothers, Norris Edward Shumaker Jr., of Sardis, RobertLee Shumaker, of Brookhaven, Ricky C. Shumaker, and Bart Shumaker,both of Monticello; his sisters, Laura Gatlin, of Bogue Chitto, andAmy Keen of Brookhaven; and his grandchildren, Malarie KathleenShumaker, and Jerry Lane Ballard, both of Sontag.
Herbert D. Smith
Services for Herbert D. Smith, of Metairie, La., were 11 a.m.,Saturday, June 4, at Damascus Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Harrigill Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.
Mr. Smith, 78, died June 2, 2005, at his residence. He was bornin Franklin County on May 7, 1927, to Bunyan Dennis Smith and EdnaEstelle Smith.
He was a lineman for New Orleans Public Service (now Entergy).He was a member of Crescent City Baptist Church. He was a veteranwith service in World War II.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, James”Pender” Smith.
Survivors are his wife, Ethel “Juanita” Cartier Smith, ofMetairie, La.; his son, Ronald M. Hess, of Kenner, La.; hisdaughter, Charlotte S. Hancock, of St. Rose, La.; his sister,Georgia S. Cloy, of Metairie, La.; and one grandchild.
