LAUREL — The Lincoln County National League all-stars were senthome Sunday from the Dixie Youth Baseball AA Coach/Pitch SouthState Tournament. Pascagoula handed the Lincoln Countians at 25-9setback in an elimination game.

The Nationals won their first tournament game, beating Gautier11-1 last Friday. However, they lost to powerhouse Petal 28-2Saturday after taking an early lead.

Members of the Lincoln County squad are Tucker Watts, Dylan Case,Dawson Zumbro, Cullen Keene, Collin Britt Dillon Smith, CadeHodges, Tanner Waldrop, James Beard, Price King, Logan Emfinger,Dalton Fortado and Coaches Lee Zumbro, August Fortado, Landon Brittand Jeffrey Emfinger.

Against Pascagoula, a triple and a single by Beard led theNationals in batting. Hodges singled and doubled, plus an RBIsacrifice fly. King doubled and singled.. Fortado had a sacrificefly which scored Emfinger who tripled and doubled. Watts had an RBIand Zumbro singled.

Wesson Absorbs Loss

MAGEE – The Wesson All-Stars were defeated in the Dixie YouthBaseball Major League 12s South State Tournament, falling 2-1 toMarion County Sunday. It was Wesson’s first loss in thedouble-elimination tournament.
