Services for Augustine Bowman Adams, of Kinder, La., formerly ofJackson, were 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Lakewood MemorialPark.
Mrs. Adams, 79, died Oct. 23, 2005, in Kinder. She was born onJuly 11, 1926, to Winnie Alice and Herman Bowman. She grew up withher brothers and sisters in Brookhaven.
She had been a resident of Kinder Retirement Center in Kinder,for the past 12 years since relocating from her home inJackson.
She married Kenneth Adams on Feb. 19, 1950, and together madetheir home among many friends on Arbor Hill Drive in Jackson. Therethey reared their four children.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; herfirst-born grandson, Richard Scott Bryant; her sisters, Margaret”Tootsie” Turpin, and Olga Waldrop; and her brothers, Robert Bowmanand Herman “Buddy” Bowman.
Survivors are her four children, Theresa Harper, of Laurel,Jerome Adams, of Lake Charles, La., Angela Shuler, of Tupelo, andThomas Adams, of Longville, La.; one brother, Williams Bowman andhis wife, Linda; two sisters, Adley Steward and her husband,George, and Faye Smith; her six grandchildren, Mariel Forrester,Lindsey Bryant, Olivia Shuler and Evan, Randi, and Jackson Adams;and four great-grandchildren, Andrew Bryant, and Hailey, Hannah andLayla Forrester, and “one on the way.”
