A local man is in jail for allegedly setting his house on fire late on Independence Day.

     Jerry R. Hux, 35, was arrested on charges of arson after the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department investigated a fire at his home at 921 Hog Chain Road. The first call came into the sheriff’s department at 9:53 p.m. July 4.

     Sheriff Steve Rushing said there had been domestic issues earlier in the day. After everyone left that night, Hux allegedly set his trailer on fire.

     Rushing said they are still investigating what was used to start the fire. The trailer only burned in sections.

     Hux is being held on a $100,000 bond.
