Josie Aline Cotten Blackwell

Memorial services for Josie Aline Cotten Blackwell, of FortWalton Beach, Fla., are planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 12 atPort Hudson Military Cemetery in Louisiana, where her husband,Henry H. Blackwell is buried.

Mrs. Blackwell, 83, died June 23, 2005, at Fort Walton BeachMedical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in McCombon May 2, 1922, to Thomas Bluit Cotten and Lonie Lofton Cotten.

She was a nurse and had lived and worked for many years in NewOrleans. After retiring, she moved to Fort Walton Beach to be nearher daughter, Jackie.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; herbrothers, Clyde, Roy, Julius, Aubrey, Willie Ray, James, Ralph andClifton; and her sisters, Mazie and Grace.

Survivors are her four daughters, Jacaline Fleming, of FortWalton Beach, Elizabeth Ann Griffin, of Slidel, Nancy Susan BourGeois, of Terrytown, La., and Henrietta Corley, of Shreveport; hersister, Reba Cotten Smith, of Brookhaven; eight grandchildren; andone great-grandchild.

Fannie T. Kyzar

Services for Fannie T. Kyzar, of Gulfport, are 10 a.m. Saturday,July 9 at Mallalieu Methodist Church with burial in Pleasant GroveMethodist Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Harrigill Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kyzar, 94, died July 6, 2005, at Garden Park Medical Centerin Gulfport. She was born in Lincoln County on Sept. 21, 1910, toR.J. “Bob” Thornhill Sr. and Mattie Rials Thornhill.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Methodistfaith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JohnKyzar; seven sisters; two brothers; and a son, Henry Lee Kyzar.

Survivors are her daughter, Mildred Mason, of Gulfport; her son,Henry Lee Kyzar, of Brookhaven; her sister, Mary Hamilton, ofBrookhaven; her brother, Wesley Thornhill, of Hammond; ninegrandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Albert ‘A.C.’ Smith

Services for Albert “A.C.” Smith, of Wesson, are 11 a.m.Saturday, July 9 at Pine Grove M.B. Church in Sontag with burial inthe church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 1-5 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

Mr. Smith, 82, died July 5, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born on Nov. 14, 1922, to Albert Smith and Molly AnnSmith.

He was retired from the Brookhaven Brickyard after 25 years ofservice. He was a member of Little Rock M.B. Church in Sontag.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, CatherineSmith; his daughter, Flora Byas; and his brother, L.B. Smith.

Survivors are his sons, Albert C. Smith Jr. and his wife,Gloria, of Wesson, Willie Smith and his wife, Flordia, and RobertSmith and his wife, Gracie, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; his sister,Frankie Lee Lewis, of Hattiesburg; 13 grandchildren, 23great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephewsand other relatives.

Frances Barbara Hutchins Vinson

Services for Frances Barbara Hutchins Vinson, of Brookhaven, are2 p.m. Sunday, July 10 at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial inEasthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vinson, 77, died July 6, 2005, at New Dawn RetirementCenter. She was born in Alexandria, La., on June 27, 1928, to FrankHutchins and Lu Woodring Hutchins.

She was a retired sales clerk with JCPenney and a homemaker. Shewas a graduate of De Quincy High School and a member of Union HallBaptist Church. She married J.W. Vinson on July 6, 1948. They weremarried for 57 years. She was a devoted wife and mother.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her grandson, JaysonVaughn Vinson; and a granddaughter, Chrissy Hall.

Survivors are her husband, J.W. Vinson, of Brookhaven; herdaughter, Linda Hall and her husband, Glenn, of Bogue Chitto; hersons, Jay Vinson and his wife, Linda, of Meridian, and Frank Vinsonand his wife, Tammy, and Scott Vinson and his wife, Lisa, all ofBrookhaven; her grandchildren, Angie and Matt Hall, of BogueChitto, Mandy and Kelly Vinson, Devin Jordan, and Parker Vinson,all of Brookhaven, and Dareth and Jessica Vinson, of Memphis,Tenn.
