Funeral services for Mackie Odell Stewart, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, at Zion Hill M.B. Church in Wesson, with burial in the church cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home, with family hour from noon until 1.
Mr. Stewart, 63, died Jan. 5, 2013, at Countrybrook Living Center. He was born in Wesson on Nov. 29, 1950.
He graduated from Alexander High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was disabled.
Preceding him in death were his father, Melvin Stewart Sr.; brother, Melvin Stewart Jr.; and sisters, Myrtle Stewart Smith and Minyon Stewart Coleman.
He leaves his precious memories to his mother, Ossie M. Corley Stewart, of Brookhaven; sons, Derrick Benjamin, of Brookhaven, and Ricky Phillips and wife, Helen, of Laurel; five grandchildren; brothers, Marvin Stewart, of Chicago, and Malcolm M. Stewart and wife, Barbara, of Brookhaven; sisters, Myrtis Stewart Smith, of Brookhaven, and Montina Stewart Triplett, of Byram; and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
