Services for Thelma Smith Crump Dixon, of Brookhaven, will beheld at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, at Damascus Missionary BaptistChurch in Brookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. WilliamsMortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Thursday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mrs. Dixon, 83, died Oct. 25, 2007, at her residence. She wasborn on Aug. 23, 1924, to William Edward Smith and LillieHarrington Smith.
She attended Alexander High School and graduated from LincolnCounty Training School. She also attended Jackson State Universityand Tougaloo College. She served as social services representativeat Lindsay Head Start Centers of Lincoln County. She was a memberof Damascus Missionary Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Zeno CrumpJr.; her sisters, Juanita Smith, Edna Mae Tillman, Geneva McGee,Lucille McCloud and Ina Thompson; and her brothers, BenjaminFranklin “B.F.” Smith, William Edward “W.J.” Smith and EnnisSmith.
Survivors are her husband, J.D. Dixon, of Brookhaven; herdaughter, Linda Gayten and husband Anthony, of Brookhaven; herstepdaughter, Beverly Richardson and husband Tom, of McComb; herstepson, Alvin Dixon, of Clarksdale; her brothers, Alcus Smith, ofMilwaukee, Wis., and Billy Smith, of Phoenix, Ariz.; herdaughter-in-law, Carolyn Crump, of Brookhaven; her 12 grandchildrenand one great-grandchild.
