BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats shut out theBrookhaven Lady Panthers 3-0 in Tuesday night slowpitch softballaction.
“We played really well defensively,” said BC head coach ScottLeggett. “We have got to do a better job offensively in getting theruns in when they are in scoring position.”
BC improves to 12-1 on the season, while Brookhaven falls to 6-4 ontheir season worksheet.
The Lady Panthers will host the McComb Lady Tigers in a Division 5Acontest Thursday night. The junior varsity game will begin at 5p.m. followed by the varsity game at 6. The Lady Cats will travelto McComb to play the Tigers Saturday for a varsity game only,starting at 1:30 p.m.

Kerri McGehee provided a strong pitching performance in the shutout for BC, collecting two strikeouts and allowing no walks.
Brooke Hosick absorbed the loss for Brookhaven with one strikeoutand no walks.
Shortstop Josie Porter led the Cats offensively with two singles.Hitting safely were Mattie Avants, Adrienne Wallace, Rheagan Welch,Bradi Davis, Kaylie Crosby and McGehee.
Leftfielder Sarah Ayers provided the Panthers offense with twosingles. Erica Bridwell, Christen Benson, Madeline DeLaughter,Emily Freeman, Rashana Stewart and Shelby Peavey hit a singleapiece.
“We’ve got to hit the ball more consistently to be able to wingames,” said Brookhaven head coach Lisa Covington.
In JV action, BC held off Brookhaven for a 10-5 victory. The Catsjunior varsity team improves to 7-0 on the season with the help oftheir pitcher Shelby Crosby who had one strikeout and onewalk.
“Our JV is doing a great job,” continued Leggett.
Hailey Estess led the Cats offensively with two singles. MalloryAllen and Christian Black hit safely.
Taylor Murray led Brook’s offense with a home run. Mandy Jacksonprovided a double. Alycen Speaks, Cheyenne Smith, Haley Speaks,Julianna Porter, Abbey Richardson, Emily Mezzanares and ChantelQuarles hit a single apiece.
