Joyce Ballard Herring
Services for Joyce Ballard Herring, of Brookhaven, are 1 p.m.Saturday, June 2, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel withburial at Bethel United Methodist Cemetery in Brookhaven.
Visitation is Friday from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mrs. Herring, 73, died May 31, 2007, at Regency Hospital inJackson. She was born on April 5, 1934, to Barry and Bessie ThamesBallard.
She was retired from Sack ‘N Save Food Stores. She was a memberof Bethel United Methodist Church in Brookhaven and and activemember of Woodmen of the World.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Edgar LeeHerring; brother, Louis Ballard; sisters, Doris Moses and AnneBreaux.
Survivors are her sons, Frankie Eugene Herring, of Winona, andJames Arthur Herring, of Brookhaven; daughters, Neoto HerringMcCullough, of Pensacola, Fla., and Amaryllis “Amy” Herring Bozant,of Memphis, Tenn; brother, Charles Ballard, of New Roads, La.;sisters, Faye Jarreau and Dot Luter, both of the Baton Rouge area;nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Eddie Kelly
Services for Eddie Kelly of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. Monday, June4, at Siloam M.B. Church in Brookhaven with burial in the churchcemetery. R.E. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Sunday from 2 until 8 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Kelly, 52, died May 30, 2007, at King’s Daughter’s MedicalCenter in Brookhaven. He was born to Richard and Beatrice OliverKelly.
He was retired from Columbus Lumber Co. He was a member ofSiloam M.B. Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his brothers; Robert Lee Kelly, Roosevelt Kellyand Clarence Kelly, all of Brookhaven, Eli Kelly, of Summit, WillieLee Kelly, Napoleon Kelly and Jerry Kelly, all of Slidell, La., andsisters, Margaret Brooks, of Brookhaven, Eunice Lou Ella Brown, ofSummit, Carolyn Kelly, Louada Smith and Jessie Mae Boyd, all ofBrookhaven.
Opal P. Graves
Services for Opal P. Graves, of Meadville, were 11 a.m. Friday,June 1, at Providence Baptist Church in Franklin County, withburial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Wiley Reid and the Rev.Kevin Griffin will be officiating.
Visitation was Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at Franklin FuneralHome and Friday at the church from 10 until 11 a.m.
Mrs. Graves, 87, died May 30, 2007, at Franklin County MemorialHospital in Meadville. She was born in Attala County on Jan. 25,1920, to Zebudee and Zenia Pee Pullen.
She was retired from D.R. McGeehee Insurance Agency inMeadville. She was a member of Meadville Baptist Church and aprevious 60 year member of Providence Baptist Church where sheserved in many capacities. She served several terms on theMississippi Baptist Women’s Missionary Union Executive Board and inevery position of her local WMU Association. She was a member ofthe Franklin Woman’s Club, the Pine Burr Garden Club and theFranklin American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer and acharter member of the Middlefork Country Club where she was thefirst female to record a hole-in-one.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carey E.Graves; and five siblings.
Survivors are her son, Harold Carey Graves and his wife,Catherine, of Meadville; daughters, Wanda Jean Cothern and herhusband, Wendell, of McComb, Diane Graves Mize, of Meadville, andCheryl McNerr, of Bossier City, La; brother, Billy Pullin, ofCharleston; sister, Earline Burton, of Tutwiler; 13 grandchildren,Valerie Simmons, Patricia DeRouen, Denine Howell, Brian Mize, BarryMize, Chris McNeer, Lauren Almefty, Kelly McNeer, Coleman Graves,Katelyn Graves, Madelaine Blackwell, Avery Blackwell and SavannahBlackwell; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Chris McNeer, Billy Joe Graves, MauriceWhitehead, Dr. Elmo Gabbert, Dr. Ben Yarbrough and Semmes Ross.

Carol Ann Tillman
Services for Carol Ann Tillman, 66, of Franklin County, who diedon Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at the University Medical Center inJackson will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United MethodistChurch in Roxie with the Rev. Philip Hidelberg officiating..
Burial will follow at the Sixteen Cemetery in Roxie under thedirection of the George F. West Funeral Home in Natchez.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at theWashington Funeral Home in Tylertown, and from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Roxie. It will also beSaturday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the St. Paul United MethodistChurch in Roxie.
Mrs. Tillman was born Dec. 28, 1941, in Port Gibson, thedaughter of the late Joe Smith Sr. And Gertrude Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister.
Mrs. Tillman started her Christian journey early in life as amember of Campbell Chapel Church, and later became a member of St.Paul United Methodist Church. She was a role model teacher in theFranklin County School system for over 25 years, and upon occasiontaught for Alcorn State University Nursing school. She didn’t mindbeing a pioneer and standing upon the principles she believed in.Upon her retirement, she established Tillam Real Estate CompanyInc. She always believed in being firm, fair and friendly, and waswilling to assist others in anyway possible. Mrs. Tillman wasactive in her community and enjoyed working for Jesus along sideher husband. She was an alumni of Alcorn State University and amember of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. During her lifetime shereceived numerous awards and recognition for her service but nonecompared to her dedication and devotion to her family. She was aloving wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin andfriend to many. She will be missed but not forgotten.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Dr. Charles J.D. Tillman, 44years ago. In addition to her loving husband, Mrs. Tillman leavesto celebrate her life and to cherish fond memories, her children -Daphne (Stanfort), Tara, Cassandra, Andrea and Joel (Alanda) aswell as her grandchildren, Garciea, Janna, Jada, LaJoy, Chandler,Tristan and Joel. She is also survived by two brothers, Joe Jr.(Ann) and Thomas (Margaret); one sister, Mary; one aunt, Marie; anda host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Feon Smith, Michael Smith, Bobbie Morris,Stanfort Perry, Manuel Bonds and Vincent Bonds.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Douglad (D.D.) Fitzgerald, BillHalford, Albert Brown, Thomas Smith, Joe Smith Jr., Robert TillmanJr.
